weekends = movies

I know I'm supposed to be in church right now, but here I am blogging away..
Just so y'know, I didn't skip church on purpose. It's just that I'm not feeling really well today.
It must've been the weather, since it got so so cold all of a sudden 2 days ago. Snow for a girl who is used to living in a sunny-all-year-round country ? pretty, but not good.

So, I watched a total of 2 movies this week.
They're BURLESQUE and TANGLED.

1.  BURLESQUE
Yo this movie was plain AWESOME. Ok so this movie is about a small town girl called Ali, she's feels that she got the moves AND the voice to do something big so she moved to the city of dreams, LA. There, she came across this 'dance' club called burlesque, where the girls dance while lip-syncing to the songs. Ali was so amazed by the performance that she begged the owner of the club to let her perform on that stage. After passing the audition, she was granted a spot. Once, another performer sabotaged the mic, turning off the music which the girls lip-sync to. Ali was forced to sing, and WOW SHE WAS GOOD (that part gave me goosebumps). .... .... .... In the end, Ali became the main performer of the shows in burlesque and saved the club from going bankrupt, oh AND she got a hot boyfriend too (played by Cam Gigandet).
The most unbelievable thing about this movie is that the other female lead is played by a 64 year old woman! She's like almost 3 times the age of her co-star but she STILL got the swagga :p this movie is definitely a MUST SEE.

2. TANGLED
This movie is basically the 'nicer' version of Rapunzel. I watched it in 3D and it was pretty interesting. This movie is sure to give people a good laugh (well it sure did give ME a great time). I won't give too much details for this movie since it's RAPUNZEL. Princess with very long (magical) hair, trapped in a tower, Prince (in this movie, a thief) came to save her, she escaped the tower and yadayadayada.. another MUST SEE.

There are just SO MANY good movies out in the theaters right now. GAH I don't wanna spend too much money on them but sometimes, I'm just so tempted to go to the theaters and just enjoy 2 to 2 and a half hours of just relaxing and watching something that I like.
Yeah, I just wanna post this for today. We'll see if there are any interesting things happening next week (I'm looking forward to them for sure) :D

lazy monday ?

So, hello there :)

As the title of this post suggests, yep it's been a nice and relaxing/lazy day today. I just had my last linear algebra quiz for the semester and I AM STOKED ( well finals are still gonna be there, but whatever, it can wait ). Ok so the quiz was really short ( 2 questions, what else is there to say? ). I wanna say it was easy but i know i shouldn't cos i don't wanna get disappointed when the marks are up.

ok so today, i'm gonna blab about my CURRENT greatest obsessions in my life *they change a lot*
they are ...

1. KPOP *those who know me well knows exactly what i'm talking about*
I <3^∞ korean music . I don't exactly know why but most of the melody to the songs are the ones that just sorta appeal to me && not to mention all the hot guys dancing and singing 0.0 For some people, these guys may look gay or smthin, but for me nuh-uh <3 Also, I have this obsession over korean variety/reality shows cos they're just so funny. I'll just go to youtube and look at random videos. It's so FUN !! This is definitely number 1 on my list to watch after a long day of class or a tough exam.

2PM

SUPER JUNIOR (who doesn't know them?)

Girls Generation "Gee Gee Gee Baby Baby"

2. FOOD
Living alone ( read: without parents or basically, adults ) makes you feel like you can eat however you wants. Whether it's eating healthy, green food or lifespan-shortening junk food, no one really cares. You'll only start caring when you gain a few pounds here and there ( i think it's happening to me ). So yeah the variety of food here is just plain.. awesome. Whatever you want, they have it. Japanese, Korean, Western, Italian, Lebanese... you name it! I guess the more you're willing to spend, the better food you'll get (most of the time..). Safe to say, food is my guilty pleasure <3

Here are some photos :)

Restaurant : CALISTO
Type of food : ITALIAN
Location: 647 College Street Toronto, ON
bruschetta and lasagna <3

My favourite bubble tea shop : TEASHOP 168

3. TV SHOWS
Ok, to be honest, when I got the internet working in my place, the first thing I thought was 'Yes! Now I can watch these awesomely cool TV shows e.g GLEE, Gossip Girl, Grey's Anatomy <3 coz back home in Indonesia, I can't access the videos on the TV channel websites and the dvd takes FOREVER to come out. Now i'm always up to date on the newest episodes and that makes me so excited (note: i don't have a TV in my place so i watch these things online). On tuesday there's gossip girl, on wednesday i think glee's on, then the rest follow through. Thank you CTV and Global TV, you've made me a very VERY happy girl.

Hmm, what else am i obsessed about ?
- GOOD MOVIES
- Apple gadgets ( macbook, itouch, ipad, u name it )
- Disney's STITCH
- Theme Parks
oh and last but not least, TAYLOR SWIFT !! (i can't tell you how i love her songs, they're just so real)

It's THE END for now :)

the '1st' entry

Well u guys must think i can't count or something cos this is obviously my 2nd post.

for me, this is my 1st official post

ok here goes nothing..

today is a _ _ _ _ _ day ( clue : starts with an S ) and yep I am stuck at home. well i can't blame anyone since i decided on this. the day started off pretty well with me going out for a 'free' dim sum ( a family friend's treat ) in chinatown. yo believe me, it was asdfghjkl-ly good! oh, then it got more and more boring and frustrating since I can't seem to understand a thing i'm supposed to study for this test on monday. ( p.s. : i'm a university student doing chemical engineering and having a hard time with linear algebra and physical chemistry, so someone/anyone help? ). i'm super freaked out right now.
i think that's it for what happened today, gonna move on to the more 'fun' stuff.

bear with me cause this post is gonna be long and full of _______ ( let's see what word i can fill up this blank with at the end of the post )

i moved to canada ( toronto to be exact ) for college two months ago and i must say it has been a roller coaster ride. it's downs are mainly because of the endless assignment, quizzes and whatnots, and it's ups - almost everything else. I live so far away from my family so i guess it's the perfect time to be independent eh?
new places, new people, new experience :)

*slight diversion : i think i just messed up in BOILING AN EGG (talk about being independent)*

i have to admit though, i do miss my family and friends back home ( i dunno if they miss me too though:\ ).
yea i made new friends and all, but i think i won't ever forget all the fun and not-so-fun times with my old mates ( we go way back since middle school). now that high school's over, i kinda miss it. there's always this bittersweet feeling whenever i think back.

boyfriends : guys who are really nice to you and treat you special (rosadictionary.com)
my parents don't want me to date before going to college so yea, here i am, pathetically single throughout my 17 years of life *newsflash*. now that i'm in college, i don't know what to expect (it's not a good feeling i tell ya). i'm always hoping :) *end of a boring section*

Jumping off to Harry Potter, yep i watched it yesterday with a friend during my lunch break so we were late for tutorial. to be honest, i only watched the 1st, 4th and last (1st part) movie. My mother didn't let me watch it since she was against anything 'dark and mystical', but i guess now it's not a big deal for her anymore since she was pretty chill when i told her i wanted to watch it. So, i think the movie was really good (but super dark) :) I love hermione, she's grown up a lot since the 1st movie.

i guess this is it :)
the end of my first entry, not as long as i expected it to be but it's taking up too much of my time. (mainly because i think too much before i type). i will, i repeat, WILL post something up at least once in 2 days. don't be intimidated, this is just a way of reminding myself that i should NOT let this blog DIE (like my other 2 blogs).

Summing up what this post is all about, i think i can fill it up with a 2 letter word *drumroll* ... ... 'ME' (i am not self obsessed in any way)

ciao

a compendium

compendium |kəmˈpendēəm|noun ( pl. -diums or -di|-dēə|)collection of concise but detailed information about a particular subject, esp. in a book or other publication.
I have no idea why I've chosen this name for my blog, but I guess I just wanted it to sound fancy (compendium is the fancy way of saying compilation)
Why COMPILATION you say ? Just like any other blog out there, this one's gonna be a 'silent listener'. A place for me just to pour out my thoughts and not receive any feedback or advise ( it's better that way sometimes ). So, here goes nothing..
unimportant side note : i've had quite a few blogs before but i just feel like starting anew. it's like writing on a fresh new page and i simply love the feeling :)
